Rare Sandon Bespoke Buff Ladies Hunt / Riding Breeches
Rare Sandon & Co LTD 8 Savile Row, London W1 and 5 Rue Clement - Marot, Paris, specialized in bespoke fox hunting, equestrian & military tailoring. Known as the highly regarded (COUNT BRUHL'S TAILOR) who rode from customer to customer on his donkey. Sandon equestrian apparel is quite rare, sought after by collector's. There is one pair like these, on display in a London museum.
Offered is a pre owned Sandon & Co LTD ladies buff riding breeches in very good condition (tagged with all correct information). Hand written Sandon Savile Row label: date made March 1955.
Breeches are in an overall very good condition showing signs of having been worn, however no important damage nor staining. One or two small professional repairs. Interior is in a clean condition no damage nor staining.
Design details: dual side to side front hand pockets, dual rear pockets with closure buttons, front cover flap with buttons, three button fly, rare buckskin suede inner leg padding, four buttons below the knee and four buttons below the calf. Cloth is a high grade English light to medium weight cavalry twill.
Breeches measurements: waist 25.5", inseam 24.5", overall length 34.5", rise 12.5".,( width of the leg bottoms below the knee and above the four button bottom - 12 inches around ).
Please keep in mind, that these breeches are designed to fit snugly and usually in cooler weather.
This is truly a rare find, great for those who settle for nothing but the best.
